The natural harbour, framed by rugged cliffs, is a stunning sight, especially at high tide.

Top things to do here include indulging in cosy cafés and enjoying the scenic walking routes along the South West Coast Path. Plus, there’s the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic, for those who dare!

4. Polperro

Polperro is a timeless fishing village on Cornwall’s south coast and easily one of the most picturesque villages in Cornwall. With its maze of narrow, traffic-free streets, whitewashed cottages, and a small working harbour, Polperro feels like stepping back in time.

Just a short walk from the harbour, you’ll find a true hidden gem, Chapel pool. A natural tidal swimming pool carved into the rocks! It’s perfect for a refreshing dip during low tide. Personally, a dip here was the highlight of our visit – so don’t forget your bathers!

5. Padstow

Padstow is a vibrant harbour town on Cornwall’s north coast, known for its seafood scene and charming waterfront. The harbour itself is lined with colourful fishing boats, boutique shops, and cafés where you can enjoy a classic Cornish pasty (just watch out for the seagulls!)

Recommended actives here include the Camel Trail, a scenic cycling and walking route that follows a disused railway line. It makes for a great day out and there are plenty of places to hire a bicycle. We would also recommend hopping on a ferry to the nearby village of Rock, home to charming cafes and scenic views.

6. Tintagel

Perched on Cornwall’s rugged north coast, Tintagel is a village rich in myth and legend. It’s best known for Tintagel Castle, said to be King Arthur’s birthplace, with stunning views from its cliffside perch.

The village is full of charm, with stone cottages, cosy cafés, and shops selling Cornish fudge and Arthurian souvenirs. Don’t forget to add a walk to Merlin’s Cave at low tide, which adds to the area’s magical feel.
