I’m not a morning person, at all. However, 5.30am this morning, with some motivation from my increasingly sounding alarm and excited boyfriend, we awoke bright and early to start our European roadtrip!
After a 3.45hr foggy drive, we are checked in and ready to go for our 12 o’clock sail.
The last time we travelled on a ferry to France we chose the popular Dover-Calais crossing. With beautiful views leaving the dock and a short sail over its definitely a pleasant journey. However, being situated in Newquay, Cornwall it’s a long drive for us to make so this time round we chose longer sailing time over driving time. Its a 5hr+ sail from Portsmouth to Le Havre but relaxing on the ferry seems much nicer than a long drive.
Plus, there was no chance I would have woken before 5.30am
